Islamic and secular education from Hifdh and GCSEs through to the Aalimiyah and specialist Ifta programme.
Overview
Jamiah offers two complementary curricula: an Islamic provision delivering a full course in Islamic theology and a secular provision delivering secondary education to GCSE and A Level standard.
The curriculum allows students to acquire a balanced and broad education, gain an in-depth understanding of their faith and culture, and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to make a constructive contribution to their community and wider society.
Programmes
A structured Quran memorisation programme beginning with Nazra (recitation with Tajweed and memorisation of the 30th Juz), progressing through a three-stage Pathway to Hifdh, and culminating in the Full Time Hifdh Class. Students typically complete memorisation of the entire Holy Quran in three years, tracked through daily records, quarterly reports and four examinations per year.
A broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum from Key Stage 3 through to A Levels, built on three elements: Educational Excellence, Character Development and Service to Communities. Students follow a specialist academic menu leading to the English Baccalaureate, with 10+ GCSE subjects including three separate sciences, English, Mathematics, History, Urdu and IT. Post-16 students access A Levels, BTECs and enrichment short courses.
A comprehensive 6–8 year Islamic education programme covering Qur’anic Studies, Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence, Theology, Arabic Language and History & Logic. The course operates in two phases — an initial 3-year certificate and an extended 7-year programme producing fully qualified scholars. Students are assessed daily with three written examinations per year, studying from 8:00am to 7:00pm.
A specialist one-year post-graduate programme equipping Aalimiyah graduates with the skills to issue informed Islamic legal rulings. Students complete 175 fatawa under supervision, study classical texts such as Radd al-Muhtar and Rasm al-Mufti, undertake research assignments and seminar presentations, and participate in workshops covering health, law, counselling and community engagement. The Darul Iftaa also operates a public Fatawa service (Mon–Sat, 11:30–12:00).
